Overview

ELK Studios is a Stockholm-based slot developer founded in 2012. In December 2021, Light and Wonder (formerly Scientific Games) acquired the studio. ELK continues to operate under its own brand.

Key innovations

ELK Studios introduced Betting Strategies before any comparable player-controlled staking system existed. The X-iter system is a tiered bonus-buy mechanic offering multiple entry points at different stake multipliers.

Notable titles

The Nitropolis series applies a grid-expansion mechanic that can reach up to 85 million ways to win. Wild Toro (2016) introduced a matador-and-bull pursuit mechanic across the reels.
